We did it! We completed Week 1 of ChaLean Extreme!
So far we’re really enjoying the workouts. We both pushed ourselves and gave it all we had this week. We both have some minor soreness. I have some water retention in my arms and legs as well. Mr. Coffee doesn’t have that but he’s starting at a much higher level of fitness.
I count it as a major success that we got up every day (at 4:30 a.m.) and got it done. Before kids woke up, before the day got crazy, before we had a chance to make excuses….we got our workout in for the day.
We both find the weightlifting to be challenging. Mr. Coffee lifts far heavier than I can but we are both working hard at our own levels.
The cardio workouts (twice a week) are hard. I’m not gonna lie. There are some moves that I simply can’t do without modifications. I give the ChaLean Extreme system a big gold star in this area because there’s a modified move for everything. I push myself to do what I can but if I think I’m going to hurt my back, I back off and do the modified move. Rome wasn’t build in a day and injuring myself won’t help me complete the 90 days. That is my foremost goal…..consistent workouts and completing the program.
So far, there’s only one thing I’ve tried that I can’t do…can’t even seem to do the modified version. Ok, I “can” do the move but by the time ChaLean Extreme gets to this torture exercise, my arms are jelly and I’m likely to face plant. Which I did.
The exercise?
Sumo burpees. They are my new nemesis. Here’s what they look like in case you are wondering.
I will conquer them. I can’t even do the modified move at the right speed yet but I will conquer them.
Today’s cardio was the Burn It Off DVD. It was 30 minutes of boot camp style drills. Fast, furious, and intense. Then we did the Recharge DVD. It’s a 20 minute combination of stretching and yoga poses. I am far more flexible than Mr. Coffee and this is the only place all week that I can outshine him. Again, it’s not a competition but when you’re working out with a fitness ninja, it’s nice to be able to do SOMETHING better.
I win at this move….

And this move…..
How did your workouts go this week?

Awesome job!!!!
I made it twice this week to the gym, which was the goal I set for myself for the year. Life happened Wed-Fri so I didn’t go the extra. But I will get back next week. It’s not much but it’s something….and something is better than nothing.
Keep up the good work!!!!!
Something is ALWAYS better than nothing!

You have the right idea, get it done before the day gets started. #NoExcuses More often than not, if I don’t get my workouts done in the morning then they don’t happen. And if they do happen they are never as good as they could have been.
