It’s 5:26 a.m. and we just finished ChaLean Extreme Burn Circuit 2. Lots of triceps. More pushups. Rows and dead lifts a plenty.
I went a little heavier today. Monday I used mainly 5 to 8 lb. weights. Today, I did more with 8, to 10, to even 12 lb weights. Lifting slooooowly, to failure by 12 reps. Honestly, I think I could have gone a bit heavier but a lot of moves are done in a slightly bent over position which is hard on my back. I’ll stick with lighter weights on those moves until my back is stronger. I’ll get there.
Mr. Coffee lifted far heavier, did his pushups on his toes (not his knees like me), and generally rocked it. He had a great workout. We love that we can work out side by side with VERY different fitness levels and both be fully challenged.
Here’s a look at what our bedroom floor looks like right before a workout. We’ve amassed this collection over many years.
If you are considering this program, adjustable weights might be a good option for you. They are expensive but take up a lot less space and might even be cheaper than buying all the needed dumbbells. We also have the ChaLean resistance bands but neither of us have used them. We prefer the weights and have a slight fear we’d get tangled up in the bands and fall over.
We showed up and got it done.

Awesome collection of weights! I have the kind that you thread the plates on the dumbbell bar so they don’t take up much space. The downside is it takes time to change the weights.

I think someone could use that style too with this workout series. Might have to pause the DVD but normally you have a few seconds in between sets to change your weights.

It’s great that you and your husband can work out together. I currently am not getting much exercise outside of walking per doctor’s orders until I get my abdominal separation corrected. My granddaughter said to me last night, “don’t let your guts spill out Grandpa” that really cracked me up:)
