Our Weekend In Pictures – Art, Horses, & Ferris Bueller

We had a fun weekend! Things have been a little hectic with all the move, thyroid, getting house on the market, adjustments stuff going on lately. It was so nice to have a normal weekend full of lots of fun stuff.

We started off Friday night by going to a local art show put on by Latte’s school district. One of her pictures was selected to represent her school’s Kindergarten art. Latte has longed to have her artwork hanging in a museum since she was four years old and this was pretty close. She was ecstatic and we were ridiculously proud.

Saturday we went to the Spring Carnival at Latte’s school. We played carnival games, enjoyed bouncy houses, pony rides, balloon animals, and face painting. It was a perfect spring afternoon….not too hot, not too cold. It was very sunny though….thus the sour puss face right here. She was actually very happy on the horse.

Saturday night, the kids were off to Grandma’s house for a sleepover and we went back in time to the 1980′s for a dinner party/auction/dance until you drop sort of thing. We had a great time and were still home by 9:45 p.m. For our age group, this is perfect. I stuck to my Whole 30 eating perfectly except for some wine. I could have gone without the wine I guess but I was dressed like this….

and Mr. Coffee was dressed like this….

….and a little wine makes it much easier to shuffle like MC Hammer. Anyhoo, back to very strict Whole 30 sans boozery for many more weeks to come. I feel so much better without sugar, dairy, alcohol, grains, preservatives junk in my system, it’s amazing.

Sunday was low key. Yard work, grocery shopping, and time spent showing the kids how to drain a real coconut, shred the meat, and make coconut milk. Half Caff wasn’t impressed but Latte thought it was delicious and a lot of fun. Our kids are not gluten free but I’m working more and more natural things into their diets. It’s an ongoing process.

On the house front, we finally listed with a realtor and lo and behold people are starting to take interest. We had two showing this weekend and another one set for today. Seems like people simply didn’t want to deal with a For Sale By Owner situation. We are hopeful the house will sell soon now. Please, Lord, Please. Maintaining two properties is for the birds.

What did YOU do this weekend?
